Update 2025: 322 babies
Since the clinic opened in November 2023, 322 babies have been born. This is an average of 14 babies per month.
Currently (March 2026), more than 300 pregnant women are participating in the ANC (AnteNatalCare) programme. In this programme, expectant mothers receive intensive guidance. This gives our staff a good understanding of the mothers, ensuring optimal care during and after the birth.
November 22, 2023: Inauguration
On Wednesday November 22, 2023 the clinic is inaugurated by the mayor of Bulga and Tulefa.
September 2023: almost finished
After building for 9 months, we almost finished the building.
We create a garden inside the clinic as a peaceful place for our patients.

June 2023: next steps
In June 2023, some officials of the Zemen Bank visited the construction. At the right picture Kidan is discussing with Suleyman and Gebremichael.

January 2023: visit TTAF board
In January 2023, the TTAF board visited the site. The team (Kidan, Bemnet, Suleyman and Grebremichael) was present. As representatives of the TTAF board, Henk Vergunst and Marleen Wassink were informed about the status of the building process.
November 2022: starting preparation
In October 2022, we got the land. In November 2022 we started to prepare to measure the land and the dimensions of the building.

Requirements for optimal care
At the start of the design, we had several requirements:
1. The design must comply with Ethiopian laws and regulations.
2. There must be a nice atmosphere for the patients
3. The building must be easy to construct
4. There must be sufficient privacy for patients and especially for women and young mothers
